I recently have gotten back into stamp collecting which I did while in my youth, and I have had a few posts here and there the last few months as I was buying some stamp albums that I could use to start collecting. I would like to concentrate on US classic stamps (NH OG) as much as possible.
Out of curiosity, what is your favorite stamps that is currently NOT in your collection right now? (e.g. b/c it is too expensive, rare, or you just haven't found that exact one that you like)? If you also have a favorite stamp currently in your collection, that'd be great to share also.
Right now, I am looking at the Columbian stamps. Those have always been some of my favorites, and I would like to add some nice copies to my collection some day. For my favorites currently in my collection, even though they are modern, I like the 1976 Bicentennial sheets. I've always really liked those classic images, and they look especially nice in the sheet forms.

What is Mekeel's postage stamp album of the world. It has 200+ stamps from 1893. There is a Franklin 1 cent and a Washington 3 cent. |

Hi, essay... C3a is, (and will always be) just a fantasy... if I have to choose between the C3a and my home, I'll keep my home... My airs have been complete for years, including a beautiful set of NH Zeps... Randall |

In Classic US, a favorite I've never gotten around to is the the $1 Trans-Mississippi ("Cattle in the Storm"). I was ready to acquire one from a dealer as part of a trade, but he persuaded me to go for copies of the 5c and 10c 1847s.
One favorite stamp that I once owned but somehow no longer have is the 12c Green of the 1869 series. In fact that whole series is one of my favorites (in spite of the stamps being unpopular when released). |

Q12 Top Plate Block. A scarce and pricey item. I love the engraving and the subject matter of the Parcel Post series.
