Are these two stamps Dept of Education officials from maybe Venzuela or Ecuador?

I don't find them in Scott.

Thank you Don for the informative and colorful pictures and conversation with Bujutsu.

The two stamps are similar in design but yet so different.

Don, what time period were they issued?........WAIT, I'll go and Google them my self!

Mudhut:

This stamp series 1882-1888 is unusual in that it doesn't include the country's name in the design and has the word "Escuelas" on top of the portrait oval. A note in Scott after the series indicates they were to be used only on mail within Venezuela and as a revenue stamp.

Very nice portrait of Simon Bolivar, though. I think I'll draw an album page and try to find the rest of the series.
