Does anyone know where I can get a stamp authentication in Washington State without having to send it through the mail? I really don't feel comfortable with sending out a stamp that could be worth lots of money. I want to physically get a certificate or have them come to me. Anyone know? I live near Seattle area. Thanks in advance.

Send to a reputable expertizer and insure the mail you send for more than the value of the Stamp.

Bill Weiss isn't in Washington state, but he does offer an online identification service. If you're thinking of getting your possible 423D certified, I would start by taking advantage of the online identification. You don't have to send the stamp anywhere and this service would let you know if it's worth sending in for a cert.

A stamp like 423D can not be easily evaluated only from a scan - unless it's a BAD fake. But sending such an item to be fully examined and certified by me is painless because my private insurance covers the material for up to $50,000. replacement cost (at full market value) if sent to me by Registered Mail or Express Mail, so I always recommend flat rate express for items potentially worth over $1,000. since I will receive the item within a day or two of mailing.

Bill, I'm not sure if this is the stamp Talen wants to get certed, but if it is then online might be a good place to start.
