This is actually a stamp with a Taiwan cancel, which was a colony of Japan for about 50 years. (If my memory is correct, from 1895 to 1945.)
So it's worth a little bit more than a regular ol' used stamp.
I believe this is Scott 100, which ordinarily catalogues at $0.25 (and did so even back when the minimum stamp value was less).
But, according to a Japanese specialized catalogue I have, that stamp, with that cancel, catalogues at about 6.5 times the regular used (400 yen vs 60 yen). Not a lot of money, but still, don't trade that off as a minimum value stamp!
