Another question from something I found in a world collection (US rev collector here). the strip of 5 cat around $2. These have gutter, marginal markings and something I learned called traffic lights. Are they worth keeping as is? is this something people used to collect and now is a dead collecting aspect?

Thank you for your time and any guidance with gutter pairs and traffic light items. I see others within the collection like these.

Respectfully,
Richard

I think I'm right in saying that Traffic Light Gutter Pairs and strips were discontinued around 1980 in the UK. Gutter strips ,blocks and pairs were continued though.
Anything with a marginal marking is collectable so there is a small premium. These stamps are cataloged by Stanley Gibbons as follows...

Set of 5 £1.50
Set of 10 Gutter Strip 3.25
Set of 10 Traffic Light Gutter strip £5.00
Those are the prices they supply those stamps at so expect them to be available elsewhere for less..

Some collectors want the strip with marginal markings such as the cylinders used, arrows, etc but the premium is not that great.

I believe that these are "Colour Guide Lines"

For all the colours in the stamps themselves, there is also a separately colour guide. For example, if a stamp has five different colours, then, there should be five different guide lines shown in the sheet margins as well. Your strips show six different colours, so, I have to assume that there are six different colours in the stamps themselves.

Apart from your Traffic Light Gutter strip, the 5 stamps with the cylinder markings would be another collectors choice. Your strip of 5 has the cylinder numbers and the colors used... with the 1F being the gold head. Not a vast premium for the 5 stamps but certainly collectable in that form.

Perhaps the strip of 10 with the traffic lights is too much to display for many collectors and they would prefer the Traffic Light Gutter pair.
