WOW Alberta Stamper...That is soooo interesting...I am no pro at tagging, hope some on can explain so I will know to.

At first glance that looks spectacular!

However, I think that it is not tagging, I think it is just part of the bar coding that is applied on envelopes as they are sorted mechanically. You usually see these bars at the bottom of the front of the envelope. These days they are usually pink, but they were yellow at one time - both colors are highly flourescent.

Depending where the stamp is applied, sometime the bars print over it.

BeeSee...I see what you mean...but arent the lines vertical when they are applied by the post office....and if so then that stamp/letter went through sideways....

Wert, stamps are often put on sideways, and yes, the letters often go through the machine upside down.

I agree with BeeSee. Also, the color of the horizontal bars appears to be different from the tagging bars.
