Hi Everyone,
I really like this stamp but I don't know what country it is from. Also, I find the image very interesting. Also, I am wondering what language, and what does it read, and those two chandelier like images on both side. If anyone can help, I thank you in advance!
Sue

Turkey - Scott # B46. The catalogue I have in my office (2006) gives it a value of .70

Cheers!

Thank you so much for the replies!
Can anyone tell me how or where to find this stamp in the Scott Catalog? I have tried to look under TURKEY, but I can't find it.
Also, what is the image of?
Thank you thank you!

It's with the semi-postals of Turkey, just past the regular issues. The subject is a soldier's farewell.

Sue,

Semi-postal stamps, or stamps with a surcharge (read: tax), are listed by Scott with a prefix of 'B'. Admittedly, I didn't know this was a semi-postal until looking through the catalogue, but I am now used to the idea of looking in the back-of-book for stamps I can't find in the main section.

Thanks to all for the information.
My problem is.... I can't figure out WHERE the country of Turkey is in the Scott Catalog. I know that sounds silly, but it's true. I have theee worst time trying to find countries in the Scott Catalogs.

I looked in Volume Six (2007 electronic catalog) under the section "T" but it goes from the country TRANSVAAL to TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS

I looked in the INDEX and it just says VOLUME 6.

I wonder if there is some sort alphabetical listing some where online, sort of like a cheat sheet / help list of countries and in which volume they are located?

Thanks again!

isn't there a table of contents in each volume?

I only have the US Specialized so I'm not sure about the rest of them but I'd be surprised if there isn't one

Check the page numbers of your catalogue, they're at the top of each page, right after Transvaal should be Tunisia, are you missing some pages?
