These two pages were in back of germany collection seem to be of scott B123-131 issued Nov 18, 1938 if I am correct reading scott cat.

Wondering a few things, these are not first day cover issue type postmarks. Thus are these philatelic in nature made? handmade for some reason?

Also the cancellation on one is 3/12/1938 before stamps were issued. Is this a backdate for some event?

Thank you for your help and guidance with these pages. I dont speak german so do not know the importance or the event if any,

Richard

3-12-38 stands for 3 December 1938. Not backdated. And yes, of course this is philatelic! It was to commemorate the "Day of National Solidarity", or in other words: "Everybody behind Hitler"!

The second issue is from the 1939 Stamp Day. Issued in January 8th, 1939.
In most places of continental Europe we write the date as day/month/year. For me, today's 28/09/2014.
