Interesting that they are promoting Sunday package delivery. It wasn't that long ago that they were complaining that maintaining a six day delivery schedule would force them into bankruptcy.
The USPS is not a government agency. It is a semi-private corporation. It does need Congressional approval for rate changes and delivery schedule changes. If it were completely private, the rates would be so high that the ordinary person probably could not afford much mailing.
My personal opinion is that the postal service should be returned to a completely government agency.
