Hi to all,

Just had to share, I went to Aldi Supermarket today, do not know if you have them in the USA. I purchased a USB Microscope, it was the last one in the store. It cost A$37.00, and it is well worth it. Attached is a 10x photo of a Four Penny KGV with a spectacular variety. You can even use it for detecting watermarks. Has any-one else used a similar microscope.
Regards

How about describing the spectacular variety. Contrary to the common saying, "A picture is NOT worth a 1000 words" because "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" or to paraphrase, "what you see is perhaps not what I see"

Hi Glenn

The variety is the cracked electro that has caused a fault between the "S and T" of postage, that runs through the you and R of four pence the bottom of the frame.

However, I would like to also know what you have seen

Regards

To answer your question, Yes. We had a lot of discussion about USB microscopes.

Hi Horamkhet. First, something is amiss with your name. You spell it two different ways?
And we too are blessed with Aldi's, both here in the States and also in Europe. I understand it is a very successful German chain! And oh yes, I do like the picture you took with the Aldi microscope. I have never seen one offered for sale here though!

Hi Petert4522
The reason for the different spellings is that when I registered for the forum, I mistyped the spelling of Horamakhet, but that is the correct spelling. (Horamakhet). It is ancient Egyptian as you probably know, and means Horus of the Horizon, which is Horus in his form of the rising and setting Sun, very complicated theology. I am an Egyptologist, hence my choice of name.

It is amazing what you can buy at Aldi's, at the moment here in Australia, they have 55 inch tv's computer ready etc, for $600.00

The Microscope was primarily bought because I am also a gemmologist, and it can study gemstone inclusions at home. I believe that I am the only Egyptologist/Gemmologist in Australia, and have often lectured on the subject of the Gemmology of the Ancient Egyptians as well as written a few articles.

Thanks for you comment on the stamp.

Regards

Horamakhet
