Hi Everyone, I picked this stamp up about 15 years ago and wrote rare cancel on the glassine that it's in. I can't remember where the cancel is from and why it is (or not) so rare? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Wien (Vienna) rectangle registered mail cancellation. (26/7/1864).
Here`s an example:

(scroll down, 7th picture). I don`t know if it`s rare, you should look for Edwin Müller catalogue.
Unfortunately I don`t have it.
Sometimes ink colour affects CV (usually higher, if ink is red, blue or green)

Wadmalatz thanks for the reply and the link, lots of good information. Maybe it was because of the red ink, rather than black. I wish I had a copy of the book. Thanks
