Hello folks, sorry about my bad spelling:). Really bad thing happend to me on the ebay and would like to share it with You. I"m just one of the sellers who get abused by buyer, feedback system and cerebral abused by amateur ebay customer support. I"m disappointed with ebay support and ebay in general. Why this things dont happen to me on Delcampe? I am top rated ebay seller. I sold stamps on ebay and waited 12 days for payment. No payment, no message. When the customer has not paid 12 days I opened the case. A few hours later the customer has paid and gave me negative feedback. He stated:"rude. Open controversy without giving me time to win other auctions". He wasnt bidding other auctions or message me he intend to do that. Looked at his given feedbacks and saw that he really like to give negative feedbacks. For example, before me he was having 4 negative feedbacks to top rated sellers in a row. I reported him to ebay and tell them all the story. After 3 days needed to give me the final solution, recap. was " We won't remove Feedback on the grounds that a seller believes a comment is untrue or undeserved."Belives are one, facts are other. Does ebay think that sellers are retarded in general or they only think that I am retarded? Think about leaving ebay and their high fees because of that arrogant and ignorant behaviur. is that, brain attacking solution?

Anyone that sells on ebay has this happen sooner or later. I had a buyer who claimed item never arrived - a scam that some buyers use again and again. I refunded his payment after asking him to wait a reasonable time as mails are sometimes very slow, especially across borders. He demanded refund - I gave it - and he left terrible feedback for bad seller, non communication etc etc. And no, ebay will NOT remove this. What you can do - and I recommend this - is to BLOCK that buyer from ever bidding on your sales again. You can also post the ebay "handle" of the buyer on a stamp forum so others can know. |

As a buyer, occasionally I don't receive an item within a a few days after expected date, I contact sell rather than filing a claim right away to give seller a chance to respond. 99% time I get a reply "will mail today" or something like that and very rarely have to file a " claim". I don't want to hurt seller, just want my item or a refund. I would expect a seller to do same. When bidding on other items for combined shipping I notify seller I will be paying as soon as bids are over on other items -never more that 4 or 5 days. ebay automatically sends notices to a buyer if they don't pay within a few days(even if Seller has agreed to wait). Suggest you clearly state in your description terms of sale, something like, I combine shipping on all items purchased within 5 days (or so), If longer time needed because of active bidding, please notify me. If buyer doesn't get back, then file a claim. |

I'm always skeptical of the "item not received" claim. Always. I have never, not even once, ordered something through the mail - whether it's stamps, a book, a new pair of shoes, etc - from anywhere and not received it. Ever. In hundreds, probably thousands of mail orders placed over the years. That's not to say it's impossible, I'm sure it does happen, but probably not the 3-5% or so of the time it tends to happen on ebay orders sent without tracking. But...what do you do? Not refund or reship? ebay will find against you and take the money, anyway, plus you'll get negative feedback. Or, one could just not sell on ebay at all or just ship everything with tracking. Being that most of my sales are under $ per transaction, tracking is impractical. So...I do what I have to, either offer to ship them another lot or issue a refund. It's basically part of the deal when selling on ebay. |

I am sorry this has happened to you, Pope (and others). I am not a seller - just the occasional buyer - and if the description is accurate, it seems very unfair here against this seller. Maybe ebay needs to start watching ALL ends of its business. |

Malicious feedback left by buyers is a way of life on ebay. In the last year we received about 8 such feedbacks. And we had only ever received 8 negatives in over 9,000 feebacks prior to these! All were traced to ficticious mailing addresses, non-existant telephone numbers, etc and in two cases, the material was returned to us many weeks later as "no such address" or "Undeliverable as addressed". I knew with 90% certainty who was giving the negatives and told ebay eveything in my reports to them. Subsequently, two of the fake acccounts were suspended by ebay. At one time, negative feedback would be automatically removed by ebay if it was from a suspended buyer. I have never heard a word from ebay about these feedbacks. They never removed them. They never did a damn thing. hey simply don't care. They are so big and successful that they now can basically ignore reports, no matter how valid or accurate. The only defense against the malicious feeback is to post your counter-comments as allowed to the seller and try to tell your side in the few words they allow you! |

I once received malicious feedback from a buyer...claimed I never contacted him. I told ebay that I had time-stamped emails through their system and if they did NOT remove the negative feedback, they could remove my account information and name and I would never use them again. They removed the negative feedback within the hour. |

About 4 months ago we had a lot of buyers that had not payed for there items and for the 1st time in 4 years we send reminders to these buyers. We received 4 below standard ratings in the star rating area and an email from ebay saying they stop a persons ratings because everything that was possible was in the negative. We have just had 3 months pass by and it is back to everything being "no current complaints". We will never chase bad buyers directly again. Leave that stuff to ebay auto set. A lot of buyers were getting auto possitive feedback and not paying which was a real pain. But have noticed that ebay has stopped auto feedback until the buyer has payed for the item/s. |

New fraud attempt story from the ebay. Its just a thing that happens because of ebay policy of <-- you should review the rules rergarding LANGUAGE --> to the buyers and their ripping off policy for the sellers. I sent item (it was expensive) and after 3 weeks buyer send me the message saying item not recived and 3 weeks passed bla bla. But he didnt know that I sent it registered on my cost . I told him that and he STFU then. Its called fraud attempt here in Europe. What will happen? Nothing. Did I report him?No. Why? Because ebay report buyer system is just a big scum and their support administration is useless too. |

two things come to mind.First I never sell anything so speaking as buyer.I have had a lot go missing from over the pond. That was six or more months ago and it still hasn't arrived.I got a refund but the seller told me either I was the thief or the P.O. was.Catch here was item was never marked as shipped and I realized after he had probably found a bigger price somewhere else. The second thing is I always post five star positive feedback on receipt of lot. However MANY sellers never leave me feedback not that it really matters to me,but it seems a bit unfair. I daily pay for my items. What did I do wrong?? |

You can't go by whether an item is marked shipped or not as a true indicator of status. Yes, if the seller prints shipping labels through PayPal or ebay it automatically changes to show shipped, but if the seller does NOT use electronic postage and instead uses real stamps (like most stamp collectors expect), then the seller has to remember to manually change that status. There have been more than a few occasions where I have forgotten to mark items as shipped, even long after the buyer has received their merchandise. Things get lost in the everyday shuffle sometimes, and it does NOT mean that someone is ripping you off. |

A seller can have tracking and use stamps too. The USPS Click-N-Ship desktop application for Windows will print USPS labels with tracking at the retail rate without postage. Also, the application can import addresses from ebay and can update ebay with tracking causing the listing to be marked as shipped. Beware of combined shipping however. Since only one listing in the order is needed to generate the label, only that shipment will be updated with tracking on ebay. It will be necessary to propagate the tracking number to other items in the order. When the supply or readily available discount postage is exhausted, I will start to think about using computer printed postage. Clark |

Quote: Is that for parcels only or letter rates as well? Any type of mailing that can be tracked including First Class Parcels. Unfortunately, First Class mail cannot be tracked. I use Microsoft word to print international envelopes or labels. Because of ridiculous ebay tracking requirements, I stopped selling some lower cost stamps on ebay. I sell enough higher priced or combined shipping non-stamp items to justify staying as a Top Rated Seller in order to qualify for the 20% final value fee discount. Using Click-N-Ship with discount postage removes some of the pain associated with having to use tracked shipping for ebay. Some days I really wish that bidStart was a viable alternative. Short of doing intensive marketing outreach, bidStart provides almost no page views and even fewer sales. I don't know what will happen next year or the year after if ebay continues to go sideways. I don't know what will happen next year or the year after if ebay continues to go sideways. Trust me, I know the feeling. I've started sending more items to the APS Stamp Store instead of ebay, and for revenue items I'm planning to open a storefront on my own website and hopefully build some traffic selling directly, thus bypassing all the inane ebay requirements. I realize it will be a slow go initially, but the out-of-pocket costs are minimal and I'd rather devote my efforts to developing my own traffic. You never know when ebay or PayPal might roll out some completely idiotic requirement that might prove the death knell for smaller sellers. I'd rather have something else waiting in the wings against that eventuality... |

If you are a Mac user you can use Swordfish Express(freeware) to print USPS labels with tracking numbers. You can then add the appropriate postage.
