hello, a couple years ago I went to an estate sale, looked in a desk drawer and found a daily reminder book turned into a stamp book. the book it self dates 1916, and some of the stamps are from the late 1800's. I also have foreign stamps. I did go to ann arbor , but they just scoffed and said, face value, didnt even take the time to look, with that said does anyone know a place where I can go get them valued, not to sell!
lake_michigan2003..... I promise you if a dealer looked at it, and passed on it, then that is what it was.....just face value. They see these all the time. A stamp can be 70+ years old and value is only the face, or less!! Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news....again
..or just post a few photos or scans of the collection here and you can get some guidance without leaving home. Garfield-Perry happens to meet this week (Thursday, November 6); I'll probably be there. There is also a show in Akron this weekend where you could get in front of a number of different dealers. Since you mention having gone to Ann Arbor....there is also a stamp club in Toledo that also meets on November 6 if that's closer.
