So I am considering storing my excel stamp checklist on a 'cloud' storage sight and was looking for some recommendations.
My main requirements are that I would like to be able to access it from my Window PC's and my Android tablet/phone and that its free.
I have been looking into Google Drive, but are there any others I should consider.

I have used Dropbox for this purpose for two years and it's great. People tend to have strong feelings one way or the other about Google services, and I am one who does not use Google services if I can avoid them.
All such services offer limited storage for free, and a huge amount if you pay a fee. A key criteria in your decision should be how much storage is free, so you will know how quickly you will hit that limit. Each service provider has a different free limit.
Read the terms and conditions of service. You'd be surprised what they put in there. |

Hi locobot,
I actually use Microsoft's OneDrive to store my excel spreadsheets for my collection. I like OneDrive because the OneDrive website gives me nearly full Excel access from my web browser. Like, I can just log into the site and click my spreadsheet and it will open up. I think anyone who owns Excel on their computer gets the ability to load Excel through the OneDrive webpage.
I, too, avoid using Google Drive. I know Google Drive offers similar features to OneDrive, but since Excel and OneDrive are both Microsoft products I have found the compatibility to be significantly better. (e.g., a Google Drive spreadsheet I once tried to export had formatting issues when I opened it in Excel)
I've been using OneDrive for a while now but I believe their free account offers 7 GB free. If you are just storing data then 7 GB should be more than enough. If you want to store scans of your stamps and those scans are in the thousands, well, you might need to spring for a higher amount. I use OneDrive on both my tablet (Surface Pro 3) and smartphone (Galaxy Note 3) and it works well on all platforms. |

I use Google Drive and I have my want list in a Google spreadsheet, that way I can just email the link to my dealers. If I make a purchase, I immediately remove it from the Google spreadsheet. That way anyone looking at it is seeing my current want list in real time, rather than one printed weeks or months before and is outdated. I can also access it from my phone or iPad, etc, anywhere there is an internet connection. |

I also use Dropbox and compile all my lists in excel. On my Android phone I can access each separate tab and scroll through the sheets as needed. Been doing this a long time- at least 4 years if not longer. |

I use Evernote to create the lists and also include photos of some of the key pages to my collection. I can get to the data on my Mac, PC, and iPhone. It's been very usefull at stamp shows or store - can can pull up my list and easily navigate it from my iPhone and even mark it purchased if I pick something out. |

I also use Google (Docs now Drive) as it is easy to create, edit and share office type documents such as spreadsheets and lists online. The person you are sharing with only needs an email address so really easy to use without having to download softare or create accounts etc and it also works well on mobile devices such as phones and tablets. |

I use Evernote for everything. I have 22000 notes/articles/images - all accessible from everywhere.
For forum image hosting, I use Dropbox. |

I use Drop Box and love it. I have never experienced any problem with it going back and forth between a PC and a MAC. I use Spreadsheets in Open Office. |

Oddly, I use flickr. I save my spreadsheets or scan my inventory papers to my harddrive. Then I upload to flickr and have access wherever I have a wifi connection. They give a full 1TB of space for free. It's where I host my blog pics to so I have my stamps in a visual inventory just in case. |

OK. I'm different. I don't keep any lists of stamps other than a few handwritten lists. Most of those are want lists for my main collections of Portuguese colonies. And even those lists are short. Otherwise, my knowledge of my collection is stored "upstairs." Good thing we use only 10% of our brains anyway.
I prefer to spend my time working on my collection. If I was to get more into lists, I'd be using either Drop Box or iCloud. |

A Google Spreadsheet is convenient, because it can be access natively from any web browser, and can be shared with other people, as long as they have a Google account. Other options are to use Evernote or OneNote to do it. The Evernote web interface is pretty much the same as the desktop app. OneNote has a Mac, Windows, Android and iOS client, and a web interface.
There are also some online tools that will allow you to catalog your collection and make want lists. |

Just an update. After noticing my tablet already had a Google Drive app, that's what I chose to use. After a month of keeping my excel checklist on google drive I have no complaints. |
