A humorous look at how the post office is seen by the average customer waiting in line:

Thank you for the laugh I just needed that tonight!

My favorite part...

"Now you have to tell them on the counter computer whether you are sending a bomb through the mail. Make sure you hit "No" or your bomb won't be delivered on time."

I was asked if my parcel, which contained a Lego coffee table book for my son, was hazardous, flammable, or explosive.

"It will be hazardous for him if he does not call & thank me for it."

As it happens, he did :)

Cheers,

I guess this question is really for sifting out terrorists, who, of course, will shamefully hang their heads and reply meekly ..."yes".

Every visit to the local post office is an exercise in frustration - especially this time of year.

I live in Rural Upstate New York. There are 6 different Post Offices within 5 miles in any given direction. When you walk in, the place is typically empty of customers, Someone eventually yells out they'll be there in a minute...and eventually does come out from the back and help you.
What has me curious is that none of these post offices have mail which is either sorted there, or have any carriers who pick up their routes there. When a postal driver arrives to pick up whats been deposited, its already in a bag customers have already added the mail via a slot in the wall which sends it into a bag.
So what exactly are the staff in the Post Office doing that they can't be there at the counter when you walk in. Hmmm...just wondering???
