Unused Vs. Used

I don't know a lot about precancels. I have only a few as they relate to my primary collecting interest -- airmail and aviation topicals.

I have a Q8 with a "SEATTLE, WASH." precancel that appears to still be gummed, but with a light hinge. Assuming it wasn't regummed, and is actually unused, how would that affect its value compared to a used Q8 with the same precancel?

I suppose there are print sources for information like this, but given that this is not really an area I intend to focus on, it probably wouldn't pay for me to invest in them. But I'm hoping someone here might be able to give me an idea of how whether or not a precanceled stamp was used affects its value.

I don't know how Scott treats these, but I assume in the same way as SG, i.e. that there are different prices for used and unused, with the unused having to have the gum present. Logically, the mint will always be worth more because fewer will have survived. The position is doubtless more complex for US than, say, French, pre-cancels because of the local cancellations used in the US, compared with the single pre-cancel used in France. Some French issues only appeared as pre-cancels.

Consider this previous thread. Market values suggest that OG stamps do not command much (if any) of a premium as the precanceled stamp is rendered "used" regardless of the condition of the gum. Of course, specialized collectors may feel differently about that, but the market doesn't really bear that out:
