Hi,
I have inherited a collection which includes the above booklet. I am trying to establish the value as I would like to sell the booklet however when I refer to the British Stamps market Values Book 2015 there are 3 options for the buff colored booklet printed by Harrison. Can anyone please tell me how I tell which entry relates to my booklet. The values appear to be £1750; £5,000 or £500 ?
The booklet is complete (46 stamps) and in very good condition including adverts with just a slight crease in the front cover across the bottom right corner.
Thanks

It might be this one......................................... or this one?
Both were printed in 1934 by Harrison and have a cat value of around £2000 each and are available to buy at around £500 in fine condition. The crease you mention... is a crease which will affect the price.

Thanks for response and information. The booklet I have is as per your examples but with "The LONDON and LANCASHIRE Insurance co.uk" Still not really sure how you tell whether my booklet is printed by Harrison 1934 (£1750) or printed by Harrison 1935 photogravure intermediate (£5,000) or printed by Harrison 1935 photogravure small format (£500).
Any further info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

You should be able to tell by the edition number in the top right hand corner. For example, those illustrated below are # 7 and 8.

Regards.

Thanks Geoff, The edition number is 15, however I'm not sure how that helps as I don't have much recent knowledge about collecting ; only as a lad about 50 years ago. I have just revisited my own collection of British stamps again and hope to improve it with the stamps that I have inherited. Any further advice about the booklet would be welcome.
Thanks

I'm looking at a 2007 SG GB Concise catalogue. This shows that edition numbers 10 to 15 date from July 1935. In 2007, they were valued at £425, cf. Edition 2-6 (£2,750), Edition 7-8 (£1,200) and Edition 9 (£3,250). These CVs will doubtless have moved upwards since then. But bear in mind that, as scotzm says, the real world selling price is a percentage of the CV - 10% for most issues, a higher percentage for rarer material such as these booklets.

Good luck!

Geoff

From the original description I assumed the booklet to be Booklet number BB35. The new details show it to be Booklet number BB37. Price-wise it is catalogued at around £600 in fine condition so perhaps you might expect 10-20% (or a bit more) of that for your (slightly) damaged booklet.

In this case the issue numbers tell the story... booklet issues 10 to 15 are small format photogravure and, as Geof has indicated already, printed July 1935.
