The reason I ask is that in 1979 a monthly stamp house offered me these stamps with the notion they might be worthwhile. Since there was no Google back then, I was not aware that Redonda was a big rock with many kings, a few wild goats and a good PR scheme. Anyway, I have several 79-81 mint series for sale. They are listed here. http://www.stanleylisica.com/plist_hr/redo.html

Redonda is an uninhabited Caribbean island that issues stamps. Who issues the stamps... the wild goats on the island?

The SG 2007 Leeward Islands catalogue mentions the following for Redonda (Dependency of Antigua):
The following stamps were issued in anticipation of commercial and tourist development, philatelic mail being handled by a bureau in Antigua. Since at the present time the island is uninhabited, we do not list or stock these items. It is understood that the stamps are valid for the prepayment of postage in Antigua. Miniature sheets, imperforate stamps, etc., are excluded from this section. |

Bumping this older thread. I just wanted to add a few stamps I picked up this past weekend. I actually have two copies of the souvenir sheet. The first one to email me can have a copy. Edit: Next post will be number 3000. Only took 7 1/2 years. |

I don't collect Redonda, but I'm tempted to buy their set of eight stamps and two souvenir sheets in honor of Finlandia 88, which features Disney characters as figures from the Kalevala: Mickey as Ilmarinen, Donald as Lemminkäinen, Goofy as Väinämöinen, etc. |

Hi Rod. That listing is a little complicated, but it appears I have the 2 Values (2v), Mi 64-65 and the Mi Block 9 for the Queen's 80th Birthday. At least I have a reference now. SS coming your way. Thanks for the info. |

Very intellestink!!! Here's a link I ran across with a little historical background on Redonda: http://www.showcaves.com/english/ca...Centaur.htmlLooks like, aside from the Philatelic aspects, Redonda also offers our fellow hobbyists of the speleological variety some opportunities of their own, albeit perhaps a bit too malodorous for some! |

I enjoyed that, thank you. It answered 2 questions that had passed my mind over the years, where was the guano? and how did anyone manage to disembark on the rock. Some overnight accommodation, in breeze block, tongue in cheek sign, "Redonda Post Office" |
