Found this in the mix of my Russian stamps. First I sought that the Russian letter "sh" is inverted, but then I found an exact same cancel on intact stationary http://www.ebay.com/itm/1884-RARE-S...251639184668 Since on this cancel letter Sh looks like roman numeral III, I'm simply missing the lower bar.

Here is another one used in Poland. Unfortunately, word Warsaw is very faint.

Is there a Poland specialized catalog that lists Russian stamps used in Poland separately, like GB stamps used in colonies in SG? My Scott simply saying that Russian stamps were in use for the period from 1860 through 1918.

No there isn't. Remember that 'Poland' was part of Russia so that prices for general Russia apply across the board whether it's from St. Petersburg, Odessa or Warsaw, it's still Russia. Surcharges apply for smaller localities no matter where they are.

Russian stamps were used in Poland between 1858-1860 & 1865-1915. Between 1860 & 1865, Poland no.1 was in use & from 1915 the Germans & Austrians occupied the Russian part of Poland & their respective wartime stamps were used.

For Russian Postal stationery used in Poland I've paid between $3-$10 for items in the 1880s-1890s. Items from the late 1860s -1870s seem to go for between $20-$25

Thank you very much for the input. I apologize for late response.

Here is another one of Russian stamps used in Poland. This one looks like have an RR cancel judging by the word 'Express".

Sorry, not RR & not 'Express'. It's short for 'EHKSPEDITSIYA' which is a Dispatch Office. In your case it's the Warsaw/1st Dispatch Office/canceller 3. (WARSZAWA/I EXP/No3).

My reference is "Russian Postmarks" by A.V. Kirvushkin & P.E. Robinson, I think I got mine from Barefoot, an invaluable general intro to Russian postmarks, which, of course, includes Poland.

From this we learn that this type of postmark was used in some of the dispatch offices of St. Peterburg & Warsaw towards the end of the 1880's. They were used only for cancelling stamps & did not include a date as they were always accompanied by a separate datestamp.

Here's a postal card with a separate Warsaw datestamp.

1903 20 Dec Warsaw to Vienna

I've found three examples Down Under, so they can't be that rare

YeaPolska,

Thank you very much for clarification. You do not have to be sorry, I should've been so quick in judgment. A word ekspediciya is not associated with Post Office in modern Russian, but ekspress is.

Beatiful card.
