Canada 2015 - Canadian Flag 50th Anniversary

Perhaps sheets may be stored as maps in an archive. In drawers with glassine sheets in between them so as to prevent them from sticking together.

Tubes would keep them curled and when dry cracking somewhat I think.

Can maps be stored upright betwwen cardboard interleaves and glassine interleaves also? Perhaps, I do not know for sure though.

But what a collection!

They would have to be kept between large sheets of stiff cardboard in a rack made for posters or lying in drawers made for maps. Can you imagine the expense! I really wonder how other collectors are storing, let alone displaying, them.

I think that your (SC 1039iv) 64 cent upper right stamp is the double brake arm variety based on a blow up of your stamps, which is far from clear. Unitrade 2015 does not give an example or a value for this recognized variety.

Compare this scan of the variety with any of the other three.

BlackJag: I checked my Unitrade 2014 Canada stamp catalogue and I am somewhat confused by the listing. It appears that the cover has # 1039 (1036-1039) sheet stamps with green background. Then, it also shows the stamps with blue background from the souvenir sheet (1039a) as 1039i-1039iv under the pictures, but in the footnote it has them as 1039ai-1039aiv instead. I am assuming that the numbers with the a's in them are more correct in order to connect them to the souvenir sheet. However, I am not really sure since there are two different numbers for them.

jogil - It's just the way the numbering system works.
Normally, "a" would be put in front of each of the souvenir sheet stamps (i,ii,iii and iv) to list them as ai, aii, aiii and aiv.

Now how about the upper right as having the double brake arm?

Do you think it is worthwhile to go to the post office and send (oneself) a registered cover with two $5.00 flag stamps which is $10.00 plus 0.20 stamp for a $10.20 registered letter ($9.00 for registration and $1.20 for mailing rate) in order to have a usage of this stamp?

Jogil - No. But you can do what I did several times years ago. Send a registered letter to an imaginary recipient in a remote Yukon village and wait for it to come back.

The fabric pattern (horizontal rectangles) of the Canada flag sheet is such that the 3 rotated stamps become a variety (vertical rectangles).

Yup, ricecooker, and it's available on the OFDC. The effect is obvious.

I just bought a few of the 2015 Flag Canisters from my post office for $115.

Any resale value? :P I am NOT a stamp collector. I come visiting from coincommunity lol.
