When you compare these to the lilacs or the peonies or the violets
or to the magnolias and etc etc etc these pansies look awful
boring.

I have nothing against pansies but they should have been better
displayed.

Like I said before, "Where does Canada Post find these so called designers ?"

I feel bad for one of the most popular flower in the country. Every lawn in Canada grows it...Time to put on a petition to bring the Yellow Dandelion to light, and give it a stamp

I suspect this is a federal government make-work project for ink suppliers and printing firms. Does anyone have an idea of how many more flower varieties there are in Canada? Or indeed, lunar new years, sport figures, singer and comedians, etc.......??

The "Pansies" issuance date is March 2nd.

A Canada Post Philatelic employee just advised me that they do not have any information on any stamps in the "preorder" section of the web site. Like us, they have to wait until the "Details" magazine is issued to know Issuance Date, number issued, etc., etc., etc.

Nice colours, one for the watery people and one for the earthy people.

Souvenir sheet look like it would hold a cancel well, as do the stamps.

I like cancels!

I like the cover of the booklet better than the plain white (I think) stamps. Kind of ethereal in a way, covers more territory, more bang for the buck.

The designers could have perhaps (?) continued the booklet inside design over onto the stamps themselves and so created 10 different stamps maybe.

Very colectible with that idea. A small plating mystery to attract collectors and mini-collectors, something like the orchid flower issue.

edit: typos

Canada has lots of flowers issues and emmisions. Perhaps they could design a series of garden railway stamps to fit in amonst the flowers. Hint, hint, nudge, nudge, say no more, say no more.

Lithograving - blame needs to be shared between CPC management and the stamp advisory committee.

I blame them all because they are full of PCism and are totally
gutless.

Edit: Wrong thread more or less.
This does not apply to the Pansies of course but to
other stamp issues like Mandela and Chinese New Year stamps.
