Well very simply put you need to know how much the majority of any stamp has been selling for and figure out your cost to sell them.

Then you will know how much you need to buy your stamp for. You will then have to search for your stamps to get them at the right price.Mostly you will find bulk buys of the one stamp will be cheaper.

Cost to put your stock together is another issue and also the time lapse before you can clam to be getting a profit.

I find that often in auction group lots, there may be some useful stamps or covers, but you need to be careful regarding condition or that there has been clever "salting" to make a lot appear relatively unpicked. Nonetheless, I have found (even recently) great unpicked or woefully poorly described lots both at Brick/Mortar auction houses as well as ebay, so always keep looking!
