Hi guys...I was reading about prices to have your (our) stamps certified by the VINCENT GRAVES GREENE FOUNDATION...See schedule below.

Quote:
Stamps
Up to $300 value ...$30
Over $300 ..............$40

Here is the QUESTION...If I say for instance I thought I was having a Canada Scott #4 stamp certified and it turns out to be a Scott #1..Does the foundation now bill me an extra $10.00..??

Does this make any sense..?

I suggest you contact the Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation directly with this question.

Hi Wert

I think that Watermark is correct with his answer. It would be best to contact them directly and I am sure they would answer anything you need to know.

Wert

If a stamp was to be submitted to the Greene Foundation deserving a fee of $30 and it turned out to be a stamp of a higher value, we would not charge the extra $10.

By the same token, if a high value stamp was submitted and it turned out to be a worthless replica, the fee is not returned.

We work on the basis of "fair play" and the administrative effort to collect an additional $10 is simply not worth the time and effort required. If, however, we sense that a submitter is regularly misrepresenting his material in order to reduce the fee we might take a slightly different position. We take the moral high ground and give the collecting community the respect that is deserved. I know for a fact that we get that respect in return.

In August and September 2014, I was charged $40, no matter which cat number.
If I recall, I was told the fee is the same for all
