I know that I have already seen it somewhere, but I am unable to find it in Scott now... I think that it is some kind of newspaper stamp or so of the Austrian levant (or so)... any Idea or Clue? :)

Hi filipo, been a while.
I don't think that is Austrian. I believe it to be Prussia SC#16 issued 1861-65. It also appears your image is backward, the numeral 6 is reversed.
Though on second look, possibly not #16, since I don't see any perfs (roulette). Possibly postal stationary of a similar design?

Hi James.

Yes, I knew that it looks somehow familiar to me :)

Thank you!

I agree that it looks like a reversed Prussia 16. The top arc would say Preussen and the bottom arc would say sechs pfenninge. I flipped and enlarged the image, and I think that is what I see.

There was also a 6p envelope, but I don't have a picture of the die. At least a couple other values of envelopes look similar to their respective postage stamps. I think (but don't know) that you would have a "POST-COUVERT" overprint running on the diagonal on the other side, if this was an envelope.
