My Scott catalog J-O doesn't list Mexico's revenue stamps.

I assume the 10 on this one is 10 centavos. But looking on the web I cannot find one. Does anyone have an idea what this is.

Yes, it is a Mexican revenue stamp, from the 1883-84 set. #114 in Forbin's Mexico listings for Documentos y Libros. It is part of a large-ish set, starting at 1c and running all the way to 50 pesos. Nice stamp.

I mean the actual stamp!

It's part of a group of stamps that my Dad had in an envelope for years, that we used to paw through as kids. One of the things that got me into this crazy hobby. Mounted them a couple of years ago and put them where I can always remember my humble beginnings.

For those concerned about light exposure, my studio is in the basement, where it is usually dark and always cool. When the lights are on, these are not close to the fixtures, so exposure is limited.

Here he is up close.
