The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) has just approved today the rate increase requested by the US Postal Service for all but the one ounce "Forever" stamp which will remain at 49-cents:
http://www.prc.gov/press-releases/p...stments/3418Stamp collectors can look forward to new issues likely coming out in the next few months to accommodate the new rates, including:
A 22-cent stamp for the second ounce of First Class Mail
A 71-cent stamp for the combined two ounce rate for First Class Mail
A 93-cent stamp for the combined three ounce rate for First Class Mail
A 35-cent stamp for the new Postcard Rate.
It will also render the recently issued 70-cent Vintage Tulip stamp obsolete (although it will likely be re-issued in a 71-cent denomination).
