Hi,

This is one of the more costly overprints and I understand that the vast majority of these are forgeries. However, I have not been able to locate any information on the Internet specifically about how to determine if this has the characteristics of the genuine or one of the forgeries. Until I know otherwise, I am assuming this is a forged overprint, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Jay

It differs clearly from both Plate I & II genuine overprints.
In my opinion it is a forgery.

For more information, see Brainard: "Catalog of Hungarian Occupation Issues 1918-1921".
