Here is another cover I have held onto for over 60 years! I enjoy digging these things out every so often! Comments welcome!

At first glance that looked like a 1953 postmark, but it can't be, as the stamps (Scott UN No. 29) were only issued on December 10, 1954.

What do you read the year of the postmark to be?

I like the postally used version. To bad they were somewhat sloppy placing the cancel on it. Very nice though A+

I have done a search for mintage numbers of these (or any) UN Stamps and have not found them. Any ideas on where to look?

In the back of the Scott U.S. Speialized. Stamps on the cover above are #29 ( I think ) and there were 1,000,000 of them printed.

Thanks, littleriverphil. I checked my 2 Scott - neither of which are specialized and they were not helpful. Of course one is dated 1949 and the other dated 1969. Just shows you how far behind and out of date I am!

I should probably post a photo of my Scott 1949 as a challenge to anyone to show that they bought one new for use in their collecting endeavors - with an earlier date!

I was still four years away from starting my first collection in 1949.

I do not really remember when I started - probably around 1945.
