It's beautiful but I worry about the lightfasteness of those orange and yellow colors, unless it's digital only

Robert Lightfastenest is the term we use in oil or acrylic painting ( or whatever painting ) to qualify the resistance to the light of the paint, yellow and orange are very sensitive to light and loose their color faster than other color if cheap pigment are use ( like the one in ink jet printer ) But sine an album is mostly close all the time..... |

Hi area66...Here is the sheet I worked with, which can be purchased in any Dollarama stores in Canada and maybe the USA..The scanner does not do it justice..It looks as though there are yellow blotches, but it is a subtle fading from one colour to the next. Robert |

Nice presentation. I would suggest triangular backgrounds for the top 2 triangular stamps instead of the current rectangular ones. The birds are interfering with the "Scott # C3" label. From a historical perspective, I would change at the bottom "... it united with Canada" to "... it joined Canada" and you could even add "as the tenth province". |

Robert
Shouldn't you be using Unitrade numbers, rather than those devised in our plantations in Virginia?

Yes, I will shift it up or down to avoid the birds. Quote: I would change at the bottom "... it united with Canada" to "... it joined Canada" Another better idea..Thanks. |

Wert,
I quite like it. You've sparked an angle for me, as I don't have but a handful of forgeries in my extensive collection. maybe when I am grown up and done with getting a cover of every issue, I will turn to this (or just buy it from you!)
Also, I am not sure if you or the others have seen it, but there is a definitive 30 page research undertaking on all the Newfoundland forgeries that I have which is more or less like the NSSC or bible of Newfoundland forgeries. I believe there is a link on the site. If not, I will try and relink it. Its sort of a must have document and quite interesting, though dense in its detail. Its also a bit sobering because I found a few stamps that I had which I thought were legit, were in fact not. On some level ignorance is bliss... but on the other hand, like the Matrix movie : do you want the red pill or the blue pill?
Anyways, nicely done and thanks |

For those interested, I have gathered more than 100 images of Newfoundland forgeries compared to genuine stamps here: http://stampforgeries.com/forged-st...ewfoundland/In the reference section, you will among other things find a link to the 30 page document mentioned above. Some of the early forgeries can be quite dangerous. |
