ClassicalStamps...I went to your website and your 2 pence..4 pence..6 pence..half penny...8 pence and one shilling from Newfoundland to me are what I call.reprints/fakes and not forgeries...Does that make sense..?
Genuine = Genuine Genuine reperforated = Genuine, but altered/repaired Reprints = Official reprints Postal Forgery = Contemporary forgeries made to defraud the postal authorities. Forgery = Philatelic Forgeries, fakes etc. & unoffical (illegal) reprints - often made from original/stolen plates. Common to this category is the objective to defraud collectors
Thanks for the link, I had not seen this before. I only collect Newfoundland, so its quite exciting and dangerous as you say.
And yes, that it the 30 page seminal document I mentioned--good job linking it in. Werner is an amazing guy, I think part of BNAPS and if I am not mistaken, lives/lived in New Zealand.
Thanks again to the prolific Wert as well (I just got 10-12 classic Newfie covers and will be taunting/er sharing soon...)
