Back in the 1990s, I was editor of a small-town weekly newspaper. It was my first editor job.
About 3 weeks ago, I get an unexpected email from the man who owned the paper. He's sold it and has to vacate the building. In going through the old newspaper morgue, he found a box. Full of stamps. He said he also found a few little items that indicated to him the box had been mine.
I do not remember stashing a box of stamps at the paper, but he asked if I wanted them and I couldn't say yes fast enough.
Arrived. Obviously mine. In addition to probably 4-5 pounds of an assorted stamp "mess," I found a couple of my business cards, a birthday card from my parents, a couple of check stubs, etc. in the midst of all the STAMPS!
As I said, I don't remember this box at all (apparently he moved them from a carboard box to a plastic tote for shipping, but this thing is loaded.
Started digging through it today.
