Would be very interested to hear if you use these searching tool mentioned below. Thank You in advance! All The Best!

ebay searching tools:

Consider entering the recommended item specifics so that when buyers select these item specifics as search filters, your listing will appear in their search results.

I never use them I wonder if others do.

I've never used that advice. My 'modus operandi' when listing odd stuff (sometimes not stamps) is to see how others are listing theirs, which I'm assuming is what most other people do. ebay's suggestions strike me as being rather 'lame' most of the time.

I just look for the best categories that might suit what I am listing, and then add any modifications

If the title of your item on ebay contains various words describing what the item listed is it will still come up on search results even if you have not listed anything in Item Specifics. Except you will get a message from ebay nagging you about filling in those missing Item Specifics.

Why it's not in ebay section? The title is misleading , in this section I tough it was about searching for stamps. Actually this will fit well in my tread too

Germany and all related areas is my main collecting focus, and getting usable search results on ebay USA is a problem. Everything from classic 19th century German States to DDR, modern kiloware, Danzig, Saar, occupations, etc is listed under "Germany and Colonies", an impossibly broad category, usually containing around 140,000 listings at any given moment. To get usable results, I start by searching for what I'm looking for and then exclude a long list of terms. Otherwise I may have to sift through literally 1000 results to find the 5 or 10 that actually match what I'm looking for. I still may have to sift through 50 or 100 listings to see those 5 or 10, but at least that's a little more manageable. It's much easier to search for German stamps on ebay Germany, which has dozens of sub-categories. I just have to hope that Google does a good job of translating for me.

Thank You!

Very interesting answers.

It is nice that the comments make it clear as. Just wondered.

Having all the bells and whistles is just more opportunities to have old info that stays alive and makes a search incorrect is where I am at.

Australia KGV Stamps Explained should of been in "World Classic Stamps Mint and Used
This includes pre-1940 mint & used stamps of the World."

Mod's call not yours or mine!

I've been filling in those specifics for about 8 months and can't say I see any difference. It is tedious and time consuming but I was under the impression ebay was implementing it as a requirement and in the beginning I received many error messages when I neglected to add them. I still see many of the larger sellers not adding them and wonder about how ebay doesn't seem to take issue.
I'm not convinced it's helped me get my items found also because the criteria is too broad.

I don't use item specifics, they never seem to quite fit my material, however I do list almost every item in 2 categories. I think I get a lot of bids from people that use my " View other items" link.

I don't use item specifics either. I have all the information in my title and description. I find item specifics to be very repetitive in that regards. I don't fill out "item condition" either as again it's part of the description.

As TheStampNut said, item specifics is very tedious and time consuming. In TurboLister it's a pop up menu with various pull down menus that has to load in from ebay for each individual item. Try doing that for 1,000 - 5,000 items. Too slow. The only way it would be feasible if one was using a third party listing software that made it a lot easier or importing it from a spreadsheet.

I don't see not using it affecting my sales a bit. As long as you have good titles and descriptions you should be covered and the keyword searches will help people find your material. ebay just made another hoop for people jump through since so many sellers don't write decent descriptions.
