Purchased for the picture, Chinese greeting wish, Shanghai Marine Engineers Institute marking, and Hong Kong stamps.

Was thinking that perhaps the Shanghai Marine Engineers Institute marking referred to a precursor to the present day Shanghai Maritime University but can't find any evidence that this is so.

Most likely a Paquebot usage, which is not uncommon.

Used from the British PO in Shanghai, which used Hong Kong stamps. These are probably SG Z814, catalogued at £1.25 each as loose stamps; obviously worth rather more on postcard.
