I believe this is a Russian Revenue Stamp, but am trying to figure out what the revenue is for. I looked on the internet for revenue stamps for Russia and haven't found this one yet. I can't make out what the word between "Mapka" and "kon" is, nor what's written underneath it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

That's a postage stamp, not a revenue stamp. Issued by the Army of the North. You should be able to find it in a catalog under Russia, in the back-of-the-book section. There are forgeries of this issue.

I believe the inscription translates as:
Postage
Stamp
Five kopecks
1919

The easy way to spot the forgery is to look at the circled 5 in the bottom right corner. In a genuine stamp, the circle is actually composed of 2 concentric circles and the "5" is completely clear of the circle. In your forgery, you can see that the circle appears solid and the "5" touches the circle at top and bottom.
