Scott # C01 - No Period After "S"..?

Hi guys...Got this Scott #C01 in a junk pile of stamps from the local stamp club auction for a couple of dollars...Unitrade states a C01 can be a C01a if it has NO period after the "S", which I presume is the "S" in "cents"...Is this one of them..Thanks.

Can you scan the stamp at regular exposure lighting please, so as to show the accurate dots after the dash inside the S and the dot below the S?

Your darkened scan kind of shows them differently than the other stamps shown, so a closer inspection is OK, might show something interesting?

Wert, just make a nice high resolution scan of the area you circled in yellow on your stamp. It looks like there are some interesting printing (?) flaws in and around the "S". I think that's what Puzzler is getting at. Yes/No?

Ok khj...But I don't see anything out of the ordinary..?
just the same blue line as on stamporator's stamps.

I mean to see the (your) stamp at a nicely lighted scanner setting, not too light, nor too dark, just right.

Then I / we will see the smaller dots around and inside the 'S' in the word CENTS as they do seem odd to be there, compared to the otehr stamps shown by member stamporator.

Agreed that your "S" and its surroundings do look quite ordinary to me. Your original scan (the top margin) did suggest that this could be on ribbed paper. Would suggest that you compare it to another copy or any other stamp from this period. You should see a distinct ribbed effect and the colour should show through on the back of the stamp much more than on a standard paper.
