Hi, this one is a puzzler for me, and I am hoping someone can pin it down. By the way, this is my FIRST pic posting here, and I am anxious to see if it works.

Thank you,
Mobilman44

Mexican interior (domestic) revenue stamp from the series of 1898-1899. Mexico #168 in the Forbin. There are actually 2 parts of the stamp; you have the upper part. I believe the bottom tab is attached to the receipt when used.

Your picture posted fine, congrats! But you may have to watch the shadows when taking the picture, since you are not using a scanner.

Thank you for the info!

The pic was rushed, taken under those newfangled low watt light bulbs that tint pics yellow. In the future I'll switch out the bulbs to the old style ones.

Again, thank you!

Yeah, that's the disadvantage of using the camera. It's fast, but getting the lighting right and the camera straight-on for taking great pics of stamps can be a little tricky.

But hey, as long as it's good enough to ID the stamp...

Hi,
I have a "bells and whistles" printer with a scanner. But, I have yet to attempt using it for this purpose. Of course it just has to be better than the camera, and I plan to actually read the instructions and get to using it - today.

mobileman, when I first got a scanner and tried it out on a stamp, the results were so cool that I immediately spent much of the next 2 days doing nothing but scanning stamps!
