Hi all, I'm working on Tunisia, and came across some 1923 Postage Due with overprint 'TD'. Does anybody have any information about these? 'Taxe...something?' Any help appreciated! Jon

Hello.
"Chiffre-Taxe" stamps, issued 1945-47 in 2f rose, 5f lilac and "lie-de-vin" (wine-coloured), 12f ultramarine, 50f green and 100f red and sepia. TD means taxe de douane - customs. Also a 25f brown (56A) "Timbre-Taxe", similarly overprinted.
Regards.

From memory, Gibbons doesn't list these on the basis that it considers them fiscals, but they are listed under "timbres taxe" in Yvert. |

perf.12 - Nice! Shermae - you're right, not listed in Scott. However since then I got myself a Michel - and it's listed there as Postage due: |
