My Scott does not list OS perfins for Western Australia. I found sc.91 with 9 mm high OS perfin, 12 holes in each letter. I am suspecting this was made for official use. Can anyone share some light on this?

It looks like the stamp you have is an Australian Stamp that commemorates the centenary of the first permanent European settlement in Western Australia (1929). Catalogue value is 5 times the normal stamp. The OS you refer to is an abbreviation of OHMS (On His/Her Majesty's Service. It's for official Commonwealth mail. Stephen

It's listed in Stanley Gibbons : SG O120 valued at £10.00. If you are interested in getting deeper into Australian stamps, I would recommend the Stanley Gibbons catalog as a start. It lists a number of varieties not found in Scott.

Gents, tanks to you both! Excellent information.
PKshort - you're probably right about SG. Still, as a WW collector I appreciate the simplicity of Scott, as it doesn't involve too much searching for details. But I am starting to realize that Scott for certain countries has taken quite a lot of annoying shortcuts in their listings... But where to set the line?
