I cannot make the difference between a "double transfer" and a "double print", Germans call it "Doppelprägung" and "Doppeldruck".
Could you place on the site a good scan of a stamp (any stamp) showing clearly a "double transfer - Doppelprägung" and the same stamp with a "double print – Doppeldruck".
Thank you

In brief: a double transfer is on the actually printing plate, and made before any printing is done.

A double print, is made during the printing process and means that all or part of the part is re-printed.

I would certainly disagree with a "part" of an impression being a "double print". By definition, a double print is two times through the press, so a partial print should be impossible. Obviously if one impression is off center to another there might be a small part of the impression missing, but all the visible lines should be doubled and it should not cut off suddenly except at the margins. Partial doubles are kiss prints.

Here is a prime example of a double print:

on Charkhari State SG 47d. You'll see that the whole impression is doubled.
