Hello,
I am a member of coin community but I come here to help a friend.
She asked me to find a place to have her late fathers collection appraised. He passed a while ago and her mother kept his collection for sentimental reasons. Her mother passed about a year or so ago, and now my friend and her siblings want to have the collection looked at to see what they have while they decide what to do with it.
I was wondering if anyone here knows of a brick and mortar type shop in Iowa, preferably the eastern part it could be brought to who would give a honest appraisal. I suggested she call local coin shops to see if any of them had connections, but I would like to help her find a stamp guy.

Thanks

Cpfull, the APS can help you at the least with finding a local stamp club in your or her area. The people of the club can be of further help.
Sorry, I see you're a coin collector. The APS is reachable at www.stamps.org and they can and will give you info on local and regional stamp clubs in your area. Hope this helps!

Peter

You can run a search on this webpage of the APS clubs by State. I tried it out and noticed there were two in Cedar Rapids and one in Dubuque.

There may be too many pages but if you posted some cell phone photos of pages here, I'm sure that members would tell you what they see. This would give you a very general idea.

My suggestion would be to make a drive up to Minneapolis and go to Golden Valley Stamps.
