Hi Family,

I have a question about ebay delivery wait times. I ordered and paid for a single duck stamp back on July 19th. The Purchase History menu in the "My ebay" window tells me that my expected delivery date will be between August 3rd and August 7th. Is this reasonable? We're talking Florida to Massachusetts. I don't want to create a fuss but I would appreciate all of your thoughts.

Thanks,
Jack Kelley

Jack, I have at times wondered about this sort of thing. I think you have very little to stand on here because the dates are clearly given. Who knows, the seller may be on vacation, away on work or something else!

With a lot mailed within the U.S.A., I wait about 2 weeks for delivery. If the item hasn't arrived by that time, I e-mail the seller asking if there is problem. If the item has't arrived within a month, I open a case.

In almost every case where a domestically mailed lot has not arrived within a week, it has been a problem with the U.S. Postal Service. I say this because the postmark invariably gives a date when the seller says he mailed the item. Also, evidence points to my local post office. They "lost" a registered lot about a month ago, and found it 3 days later. Another lot (with tracking) took over 3 weeks to get here...that is from a distance of less than 50 miles away!

Petert4522,

I'm going to gibe it another week and then we'll see.

Bookbndrbob,

I bought some items from you fairly recently. Got them right away. Sounds like I was lucky!

Since more mail processing centers have closed, domestic mail has been slower in the last year or so.

Hahaha, How long should one wait for an avatar around here?

(I'm not really in a hurry, but I am curious.)

Today's the day! Still waiting patiently. Nineteen days down and five hours to go. Stay tuned.

I'm still waiting for a delivery from Italy since the first week in June. Knowing it came through New York, I'm sure I'll never see it.

Over decades, the Italian postal system has earned a bad reputation. In the 17 years I've been buying on ebay, I think I have bought one or two items from Italy...certainly none in the last 10 years.

I've been to Italy and I know what you mean. I'm still waiting for my VAT credit (sales tax). About $50- and its been more than four years.

On my ebay duck stamp, the mail came and no stamp. Now I have to contact the seller. Big hassle. Excessive wait time.

Family,

Well I got my answer. The stamp was sent to the wrong address. Here is the seller's response to my query:

"Dear jkelley01938,

this is were we shipped it to.. Nicholas Lemke 3321 N Menomonee River Pkwy Wauwatosa, WI 53222 is address correct"

I live in Ipswich, Mass. I thought PayPal automatically displays the correct address. How can this problem arise? Any thoughts?

Jack Kelley

Nicholas Lemke of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Are you out there?

It appears that your seller mixed up his orders. Paypal does show the seller the shipping address you specified to use.

There's a possibility that Nicolas has already received your duck stamp. It's now up to your seller to sort this out or give you a refund.
