When I actually sold something on ebay, I usually mailed it the day I was paid. But then, I am not running a store, just occasionally selling duplicates. Most of the people I deal with are pretty quick, but I buy almost entirely from the US or western Europe.

One dealer I find sometimes painfully slow is the USPS. I ordered a bunch of Xmas stamps from the catalog they send out. I sent a check on 30 Nov. My bank cashed it on 8 Dec. It is now 22 Dec. and still no stamps. This has happened before. I occasionally buy from their ebay store. They are pretty good. I never had much of a delay.

I've got one I'm waiting patiently on.

I purchased on Jan. 15, and the shipping label was printed on the 16th. ebay indicates the item as shipped, but the USPS, when I enter tracking, indicates they are still awaiting receipt of the item.

ebay said the item should arrive tomorrow (25th) so we'll see. I'm not the most patient person in the world...

The post office cannot deliver the item unless they receive it from the seller. Amazon falls into the same category when they outsource the item to stores and not themselves ( Amazon).

I always ship my sales within 1 day of the sale ending. In some cases I ship same day if it's ending while I'm at work. I've found in some cases the USPS website does not show my package as being shipped when I know it was. I think it's a matter of the USPS not scanning the package when it's received.

I do agree. However, ebay said it is expected the 25th and I give until the 25th. I did send a message to the seller indicating the post office says they've not received the item, but received no response. The clock is ticking for him.

ebay is not an authority for controlling the delivery times of the Postal Administrations in the world. The time depends principally of the manage of the receipt in the Country; example; A letter from New Zealand arrived to Mexico in 7 days, but the time for delivery in my Country is with an additional of 18 to 25 days!!. In ebay they ignore this; ebay only it provoque confusing to the buyer. Another problem is when the seller not adding the Number of Registered Mail, with this, ebay follow the rute till the delivery. I forever do it and the items that I sell and sending appear in ebay as "In Transit" with this the buyer enter in calm and waiting checking the track system in ebay or USPS and / in EMS International page with Service in 114 Countries. The final key for all this is the patience

Regards!
Rodolfo

A while back I bought a stamp from a seller in Sweden. I expected to wait up to 2 weeks for delivery but it only took 9 days. I've waited that long on a delivery from California. Maybe it depends on when the seller puts the stamp in the mail? I live in Nevada.
