Franklin Expedition Issued August 6th - Unusuatraffic Lights

The Traffic Lights (Ink Colour Codes) on the four formats used in this issue - Souvenir Sheet, Domestic Postal Rate Booklet, Special Pane and International Postal Rate Booklet - are all different.

For the first time, Canada Post placed the Traffic Lights in the Domestic Postal Rate Booklet in a sporadic design fashion instead of a straight line. The Souvenir Sheet uses a diagonal straight line, the Special Pane uses a horizontal straight line and the International Postal Rate Booklet uses a vertical straight line. Also, for some reason I do not understand, the symbols are all at a counter-clockwise 45 degrees to the normal horizontal direction you would expect on the drawing of the map.

All have the letter "C" in addition to the six colours used in a particular format.

Domestic Booklet ( an embossed white skull appears to the left of the C and Black skull. )
I have outlined all of the symbols using their respective colours, other than the white skull, to better illustrate their locations.



Special Pane ( a black symbol identical to the orange-red symbol is between the yellow and orange-red symbols. An embossed black skull is immediately below the blue skull. )
