Alright, so I've decided to start collecting stamps now. I just don't know where to begin to try to figure out what I have.. and I just ordered 500 more stamps.

I know these stamps are from India (Family planning collection).. Maybe 1957ish (had notes but they got shuffled around during photo shoots. lol).. I was wondering why the currency on the upper left of the stamps are a different style but the rest of the stamp seems the same.

Hahaha. The image will have to be larger for my old eyes to make anything out.

Your stamps are part of the Indian definitive series of 1965-1968 (left) and 1975-1988 (right). When India switched to a decimal currency system, initially a P (for paisa) was printed on stamps (and currency) to avoid confusion with some older denominations. This was eliminated in the 1970s, with just the number printed.

I see the stamp bug has bit

The first example is likely to be Scott #408 (I say "likely" as there are some varieties that can only be distinguished by watermarks or lack thereof). The second example is #668 (without currency designation).

Thanks guys. This stuff is interesting. I guess the stamp bug got me. Lol. I ordered more stamps to see if I could get some stamps I'm missing to complete sets. Then I'll probably get more partial sets and so the cycle begins.. Hahaha
