Over on CCF, a member asked if a catalog of obsolete American checks exists?

A member replied and said, "catalog? not so much and posted a link to the American Society of Check Collectors website.

I thought I'd re-post this question and see if there any or other resources, websites, etc. that would be beneficial to check out.

The Castenholz field guide series for revenue stamped paper would cover quite a few checks (but only those on revenue stamped paper). I'm not aware of broader literature in the field, but the American Society of Check Collectors would have it somewhere if it existed.

Thanks for the info.

Such a work trying to list every bank for which an obsolete check is known would be a challenge not to mention the sheer size and weight of the "finished" work would be enormous.

I said "finished" because as soon as such a work comes out new discoveries would be made and the work would be outdated.
