924B - "Constant" Variety ?

Here are two scans (with outlined close ups) of two stamps from 924a - 25 stamp booklet [BK85] - Abitibi paper, perforation 12.0 x 12.5.

I examined 203 used on paper stamps from 924a, all with straight edges, making them 924b. Of these, 86 [ or 42.3%] have an identical red line in the same position [a slight left to right diagonal at the left edge of position C7] on each stamp. Of the 86, 31 have a strong red line 1.75 mm long and 55 have a fainter and/or shorter red line, ranging down to a pin point and/or almost invisible.

As the percentage of stamps with the red line is so high and as its positioning and the image itself is so regular, could this be a constant variety?

Do flaws turn into varieties? (I really don't know.)

Here is what I found on my BK85a

top row: all stamps have the red mark in the right margin
middle row: all stamps except 4th and 8th stamp
bottom row: all stamps except 4th,7th and 8th stamp

Some marks are very faint when compared to others.

The brown inscriptions are also shifted to the right as seen on your pic.

Well, if Major1044 is correct, the variety of this stamp is the one without the red mark!
