Hi All,

I recently found an old stamp collecting album, left with the trash after they cleaned out an old house.

The album contains used stamps from countries accross the world. Some countries are well covered other pages are completely empty. Most stamps seem to be from the late 1800s and the early 1900s and it looks like the album has been untouched ever since.

Some pictures here:

At first sight, the album does not seem to contain anything out of the ordinary.

Does such an album have any value as a whole or is it better to remove the stamps and categorize them properly?

Thanks,
Rob

Unless there are any stamps that you need for other collections, I would leave the album as it it is. It's really nice!

Not much value I'm afraid. There re a few decent items, a nice Liverpool squared circle strike on the UK page, but stamp doesn't appear to be good condition which is everything in stamps. Also a couple of official Brit stamps that have the OHMS overprint, not sure the value if any.

An album like this, with a few decent photos of well-filled pages, will attract interest in ebay. Pulling out what are relatively common stamps and selling them separately will probably generate less interest.

If selling this album, keep intact, put up on ebay as suggested, and don't expect a large amount of money. Check completed listings on ebay to understand what to expect. These albums appear on occasion, but you can get the idea from small worldwide collections. If only these three pages, not more than $20-$30 or so IMO.

Thanks for the answers!

These are indeed the most filled pages, but there are about a dozen other pages that are about half filled with stamps.

Is it a good idea to also post them here or isn't anybody interested in this tyoe of stuff?
