Equipment To Detect Stamp Paper Age?

A friend of mine told me that he saw at a dealer shop an equipment that measures the paper and ink age of the stamp. does this equipment really exist? This equipment could figure out if the stamp is a forgery through the real age of the stamp

As far as I know, there is no simple or affordable way to do this.

most fakes of things like coils are made by changing another stamp that is already the same age so it wouldnt help but so much.

Possibly your friend saw device that looks like this...

This device measure paper thickness.

There are various ways a stamp can be altered of which thickness can be a good indicator of a fake.
