Canada War Tax Circa 1915

The 50 cent WT is FWT16. Is the $1.00 FWT17?

No there is no $1 stamp in that war tax series. The FTW17 is a 1¢ stamp coil stamp, which also appears with a DIV. 17 overprint.
For anyone else listening, these are van Dam catalogue numbers.

The Div. 17 precancel shown on the 1¢ FWT17a coil stamp was prepared in late1920 at the request of British match manufacturer, Maguire, Paterson & Palmer Ltd. The company's Canadian subsidiary in Montreal imported large quantities of matches into the country until 1921, when it established its own factory in Pembroke, Ont.

Yikes. Didn't lok at it carefully. It's "excise tax" - exact same stamp design.
