I don't think it is being published any longer but you may want to look for the 'Amateur Collector' catalog, published in the UK by a company of the same name. This was a firm specializing in Swiss material and every couple years they put out a spiral bound glossy catalog that was very detailed. I think I have seen some listed from time to time on ebay. I don't think it has been published for a decade or so.

For Germany, there is the Michel Germany Specialized Catalog Volume 1 (2007) and Volume 2 (2009).

EDIT: The reply refers to the English language edition of the Michel catalog. Those are the 2 most recent English language editions of the Michel Germany Specialized Catalog that I am aware of.

I've heard of the Zumstein stamp catalog for Swiss Philately, but don't know anything else about it.

The Zumstein catalog is a German language catalog that covers Switzerland, UN Geneva, and Liechtenstein. While it has a section translating philatelic terms into English and Italian, the listings and text are completely in German.

As far as I know, the Zumstein does not come in an English language edition like the Michel mentioned above. It does come in a French edition.

Michel will be issuing a 2nd edition of its English language German catalogs in December 2015. Another possibility is Stanley Gibbons specialized catalogs. While prices are not very realistic, these catalogs do have some useful information to help identify variations of the same stamp and of course, are in English. You can usually buy them on Amazon for a reasonable price.

Jenny -- That is great news regarding new English language editions of the Michel catalogs. How did you find out about this? I'm curious to see if they are going to update the English version of the Zeppelin specialized catalog, which was published in 2003.
